Amber and Chris’s Mountain Engagement Session
Amber and Chris came to me through a friend’s referral. From the moment I spoke with Amber on the phone, I knew that I wanted the chance to photograph their wedding. She was so kind and it made for an easy conversation about what they were looking for in a photographer. I knew I would enjoy being there to capture their Big Day!
When we went to schedule the engagement session, the couple asked if I would be willing to drive out to the mountains – of course!! We had chosen Craggy Gardens as the spot but as the day approached in May, we soon realized it was going to be a washout. The spring was not kind to the mountains with roads washing out and flooding.
We rescheduled to June and as the date came near- we again were faced with the ever changing percentage chances of rain. As we drove up the mountain to get to the Craggy Garden Pinnacle Trail, the rain started to come down at a steady pace. We tried to see if we could work through it, but decided to wait it out. While sitting in the cars we watched as another engagement couple came down the hill – his shirt soaked and her hair all matted down. No doubt their photographers captured amazing images in the rain- but we were happy to wait it out.
As the storm passed, this husband and wife team were excited to get started… I convinced John to come with me and handle the lighting for me 😉 We enjoyed talking to these high school sweethearts- learning more about them and their lives together as they are about to embark on the amazing adventure of marriage…
We moved up the trail from spot to spot ( “last one I promise!”) and watched this couple enjoy each other – clearly so in love! From the way he takes her hand, to her laugh when he whispers in her ear, and of course the spark in their eyes when they look at each other. It’s easy to see that they are a perfect compliment to each other.
John and I are so thankful you allowed us to capture your engagement session. I can’t wait for your wedding in September at L’Abri at Linwood.
xoxo,
Moe
