A casual spring wedding in Rehoboth, Ma
Looking a venue for a casual spring wedding? Then look no further than Terrydiddle Farm in Rehoboth, MA. This laid back spring wedding was a long time coming! Megan and Kyle have been together 10 years and had been waiting for their big wedding day for almost 3 of them due to Covid. They joked that third time was a charm! It was a perfect day in June for these two to be married.
I started the day with the ladies over at the Hampton Inn in Seekonk, MA. While my second photographer went to the guys at the couple’s home in Attleboro. I love that they were able to use their own home for pictures. One we also did their engagement session there (link here) and two we were able to take pictures with their pup, Tuukka. To know my photography, is to know that I want to include your fur family in pictures however we can! You can see tips on how to include your pets in another blog post here.
When I arrived, hair and makeup had just about finished up, so we did a few final touches and then took detail shots. Megan didn’t want too many getting ready pictures, so I took candids while she relaxed. The extra time also allowed us to capture a first look with her Dad! The girls wore gorgeous steel blue colored bridesmaid dresses that made the blush peonies in the wedding bouquets pop.
The groomsmen were also ready when my second photographer got there. Kyle chose a handsome yet casual spring wedding look for himself and groomsmen. The style was a perfect white untuck it shirt with a pop of blue on the collar and cuff; complete with blue slip-on boat shoes for a comfortable feel. While with the guys, my second photographer was able to get some fun candids as well as Kyle with Tuukka. Then it was time for everyone to head to Terrydiddle Farm.
Megan and Kyle’s main goal was to have a laidback and casual wedding. One way to do that is to opt for doing a first look and family pictures before the ceremony. This is such a great idea, so that you can get to the party with your family and friends sooner! It does start the day earlier, but it’s worth it if you’re able to use the venue for it. It allowed Megan and Kyle to do their traditional pictures prior to the ceremony. I then photographed larger group photos with guests during cocktail hour. This makes for a great way to mingle with guests during cocktail hour if you schedule extended group photos!
The nervous couple said their ‘I-dos’ in front of everyone at a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Because we did their family and wedding party photos beforehand, we were able to do a bunch of their formal portraits right away and then get the couple back to their guests! We did have sunset photos scheduled for later which provided epic color after sundown. From there the couple and guests listened to speeches from Megan’s dad, her maid of honor and Kyle’s brother, the best man. Guests were delighted to a funny moment when Megan’s maid of honor blew off “dust” to give a nod to how long she’s been waiting to give the speech. After that the couple chose to go into their first dance and special dances with their parents. This is a great way to go about wedding formalities, because at that point everyone can relax and enjoy themselves!
Speaking of relaxing, nothing says casual wedding more then when you have lawn games available! Terrydiddle has can jam and corn hole available as well as a fire pit for gathering! This is one of the main reasons Megan and Kyle wanted to have their wedding at Terrydiddle Farm. It gave us an opportunity to take some fun candids and group photos for guests.
Congratulations to Megan and Kyle on a beautiful wedding!
