A Classic Country Club Wedding in Hingham, Massachusetts
Nora and Chayce came to find me through one of the newer weddings sites, Zola, which seems to be a fast growing way couples are finding local wedding vendors. They were planning a classic country club wedding at Black Rock Country Club, which is a favorite for many photographers on the south shore. It’s a beautiful venue and amazing event planning staff, that makes the day seamless! After asking what they wanted to see from their photographs, it was clear that friends and family were most important! They wanted to enjoy the party and capture as many pictures with those they love most. Don’t forget their pup, Pepper though! We were lucky that the swap of getting ready at their house, allowed us to get a photo with Pepper.
When you first pull up to the gated Black Rock, you instantly have the classic country club wedding feel. It’s gorgeous stone and sprawling greens in the back provide a luxury backdrop for any couple. I met the ladies in their getting ready room upstairs, where we did some detail shots before Chayce arrived for the couple’s first look. The country club has a beautiful gazebo overlooking the greens. We set Chayce up before Nora arrived and then watched while they read their personal vows to each other. There were laughs and tears but also a relaxed feeling as they got ready for their ceremony and reception. Chance’s dad performed the ceremony, which is in the tent providing ample shade for all the guests. Then everyone made their way to the clubhouse for the reception.
We had some fun doing their wedding party photos and the guests enjoyed a gorgeous summer night for a cocktail hour out on the stone patio. Once inside, we heard from Chance’s mom, Nora’s dad, the best man and maid of honor. All speaking on how amazing the couple is together and what genuinely kind people they both are. To avoid a lot of the spotlight, they opted to do their special dances together as well as cut the cake off to the side. Perfect decisions, if you’re a little shy in front of the camera! Nora’s dad shot a canon while everyone watched a gorgeous sunset. That little canon packed quite the punch! We did not think it was going to be that loud or make us jump that high – haha!
From there, the dancing commenced and everyone enjoyed some late night treats put out by the venue. It was a perfect summer evening at this classic country club wedding!
Enjoy some of my favorites!
xoxo,
Moe
