Romantic wedding at Historic Venue in Massachusetts
When choosing a historic venue in Massachusetts, they range from hotels to gardens, but Endicott Estate is one of the most breathtaking. It’s 18 acres and stately mansion makes for gorgeous wedding photos. It has plenty of room for intimate or larger gatherings. This romantic wedding for Andrew and Katie was one of my most favorite to date!
Andrew and Katie came to me from another photographer friend that doesn’t provide wedding photography. It’s amazing when the photography world is about community over competition and can guide couples to those who would serve them best. I feel like Andrew and Katie’s wedding embraces that feeling of community and certainly family!
When they first came to meet me, I instantly felt connected to them. They had met in Spain, chaperoning students on their trip. So started the discussion about Spain, since I had studied there. The one resounding piece was them talking about family and how important it was for them to spend time with them at their wedding. They would be having their wedding ceremony at the family’s Church, St. Mary’s of the Assumption, so wanted to make sure that the reception was spent with their loved ones. The spoke about how their tables would be long and welcoming so that everyone could be together. It felt like old world charm meets modern day at this historic venue in Massachusetts.
As they left my house, we were met by this beautiful first snow fall and I literally didn’t want them to leave. I wanted to take their engagement pictures right then and there, then spend more hours talking to them. They truly were a couple that epitomized why I do wedding photography. When Katie discussed her job doing archival work, it really said to me that they’ll cherish their wedding day and their pictures. Lucky for me, they felt the same way leaving and booked me shortly after 🙂
When the day came, my second photographer and I met at Katie’s home to capture the details and getting ready. The girls were in the most fun Hawaiian shirts and Katie’s family could not have been more gracious and welcoming. Their home is one of the most amazing backdrops that a photographer could ask for! Talk about character! Meaghan then made her way to the Church to capture pictures of Andrew and the guys, before we headed over. They had a wonderful Mass and greeting guests during the receiving line outside.
We were able to do family pictures at the Church, so that they could relax once at the venue. On arrival at the venue, we did some fun portraits under the entryway with Andrew and Katie and then made our way to the greenhouse to finish up. They then joined their guests for their tented wedding reception and enjoyed the celebration! The summer sky gave us a gorgeous sunset that were able to capture from the portico.
If you’re looking for a historic venue in Massachusetts, then I would consider Endicott Estate! It’s simply beautiful!
Enjoy some of my favorites from the day!
xoxo,
Moe
